While the Pokemon and MTG releases get most of the spotlight in July 2026, the anime TCG corner of the market has a full schedule of its own. Digimon EX-12 drops 3 July, Weiss Schwarz Blue Archive The Animation lands 31 July, and Hololive Ayakashi Vermilion is already available now. This guide covers all three, plus notes on where Prime Day (7 to 13 July) fits into the buying strategy for each.

Digimon Card Game EX-12: Digital World Shambala

Digimon Card Game EX-12: Digital World Shambala

Release date: 3 July 2026 (four days before Prime Day)

EX-12 is the twelfth EX-series booster set for the Digimon Card Game. The EX series runs parallel to the main BT booster line and tends to focus on specific Digimon from particular eras of the anime. Digital World Shambala introduces new Digimon and evolve lines based around the Digital World setting.

For Australian Digimon players, EX-12 is a significant release. The Digimon TCG community in Australia has been growing steadily and the EX-series sets are popular for their focused card selection and the specific Digimon they spotlight.

Prime Day angle: EX-12 releases 3 July, four days before Prime Day opens. Like other sets releasing just before the sale, a meaningful Prime Day discount on EX-12 booster boxes is unlikely. However, earlier Digimon sets sitting on Amazon AU shelves may see Prime Day deals. If you want older Digimon sets, 7 to 13 July is worth checking.

Where to buy: Specialist anime TCG stores in Australia are the most reliable source for Digimon releases at launch. Amazon AU will have EX-12 from 3 July, with varying stock levels depending on your region.

Weiss Schwarz: Blue Archive The Animation

Weiss Schwarz Blue Archive The Animation

Release date: 31 July 2026 (after Prime Day)

Weiss Schwarz is the Bushiroad multi-IP card game that lets you play with characters from popular anime and game properties. Blue Archive The Animation is a trial deck and booster set based on the Blue Archive anime adaptation. Blue Archive as a property has a significant following in Australia through the mobile game, and the anime adaptation has expanded that following further.

Weiss Schwarz sets tend to have strong short-term collector demand from fans of the specific IP, followed by a price stabilisation as the general Weiss Schwarz player base evaluates the cards competitively. Blue Archive characters appearing as Weiss Schwarz cards will have appeal for fans who are not strictly Weiss Schwarz players.

Prime Day angle: Blue Archive The Animation releases 31 July, 18 days after Prime Day ends. Not relevant to Prime Day buying. Buy at launch on 31 July if you want this set at release pricing.

Where to buy: Specialist anime TCG and hobby stores in Australia are the best source at launch. Amazon AU availability for Weiss Schwarz sets in Australia can be variable depending on the specific IP.

Hololive Official Card Game: Ayakashi Vermilion

Hololive Official Card Game: Ayakashi Vermilion

Released: 19 June 2026 (available now)

Ayakashi Vermilion is available now, having released on 19 June. It is the latest booster for the Hololive Official Card Game, featuring Hololive VTubers in an Ayakashi-themed set with Japanese supernatural aesthetics. Hololive TCG occupies a specific corner of the anime TCG market: it is primarily collector-driven, with strong demand from Hololive fans who want physical cards featuring their favourite VTubers.

Competitive Hololive TCG play is limited in Australia compared to games like Digimon or Weiss Schwarz, but the collector demand keeps singles prices for popular VTuber characters elevated.

Prime Day angle: Ayakashi Vermilion released 19 June, giving it about 2.5 weeks of shelf time before Prime Day opens. A Prime Day discount on this very recent set is unlikely. Earlier Hololive sets that have been out for several months are a better Prime Day target if you are building a Hololive collection.

Where to buy: Specialist anime TCG stores are the primary retail channel for Hololive product in Australia. Amazon AU availability can be limited for niche anime TCGs.

Best value pick for anime TCGs in July: Digimon EX-12 at launch (3 July) Of the three anime TCG releases in July, Digimon EX-12 has the broadest Australian player base and the most established organised play scene. If you play Digimon, buying EX-12 at launch on 3 July from your local store or Amazon AU is the move. Check for a Prime Day deal on 7 July before buying if you can wait the four days, but do not expect a significant discount on such a new set.
