Two DBS Games, One Weekend
Dragon Ball Super Card Game MASTERS and Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World are two separate titles published by Bandai. Running them at the same venue on the same day is deliberate: TAK Games is building a combined DBS community event that gives both player bases a significant competitive gathering in Brisbane.
MASTERS is the original Dragon Ball Super card game running since 2017. It uses large-format cards and a familiar energy system that veteran DBS players know well.
Fusion World is the newer DBS title launched in 2024. It uses a different card size, deck structure, and ruleset, designed to be more accessible to new players while offering competitive depth.
If you play MASTERS, register for the MASTERS Regional. If you play Fusion World, register for the Fusion World Regional. If you play both, you can enter both events.
Venue: Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre
The BCEC is in South Brisbane with South Bank Station a 2-minute walk from the main entrance. Roma Street Station is accessible via the Goodwill Bridge. Multiple bus routes connect the venue to Brisbane CBD and inner suburbs.
The M3 and M4 rooms are the same venue as the Gundam Card Game Regional running the previous day on 18 July. Players attending both the Gundam Regional on Saturday and the DBS Regional on Sunday are at the same venue two consecutive days.
MASTERS Format: What to Know
Dragon Ball Super Card Game MASTERS Regionals run the current MASTERS format. Players bring a Leader Deck and Battle Cards following the current legal card pool and any active restrictions.
The MASTERS meta is influenced heavily by Japanese competitive results, which precede Australian events by several weeks. Study Japanese regional top cut lists before building your Brisbane Regional deck. Identify the 2 to 3 dominant Leader strategies and understand your chosen Leader's matchup profile against those specific strategies.

Fusion World Format: What to Know
Dragon Ball Super Card Game Fusion World Regionals use the current Fusion World legal card pool and format rules. Fusion World uses Battle Cards, Extra Cards, and Leader Cards following a separate ruleset from MASTERS.
For players new to Fusion World competition, the most important preparation is understanding the current leader tier list and what the top strategies look like at Regional level. Fusion World's competitive history is shorter than MASTERS, meaning the metagame is still developing and unexpected decks have more room to succeed than in an established format.
Fusion World booster boxes are available through Australian game stores. The C3 Dragon Ball hub tracks current AUD pricing on Fusion World singles.
Preparing for the Brisbane DBS Regional
Two focused weeks of preparation makes a meaningful difference at Regional level.
Study Japanese tournament results for both MASTERS and Fusion World from the most recent events. Japanese players are ahead of the Oceania meta curve and their results are the best predictor of what you will face in Brisbane.
Identify the top 2 leaders in your format and test specifically against those matchups. Regional-level players bring optimised lists and know how to play their strategy at a high level.
Prepare your sideboard specifically for the threats you identified during testing. In both DBS games, knowing when to bring in sideboard cards is as important as having them.
Acquire any singles you still need before prices move in the 2 to 3 weeks before the event.
Buy your Brisbane Regional deck before July prices move
Competitive player demand pushes up prices on DBS MASTERS and Fusion World meta staples in the weeks before Regional events. Cards worth buying now will cost more the week before 19 July. Buying early is consistently better than buying at the last minute.
The Broader DBS Oceania Series
The Brisbane Regional on 19 July is one event in a broader DBS Oceania series running through 2026. A Sydney Regional follows at the Alt Events Centre in Hurstville in August, with Auckland and Melbourne events in September. Players who cannot attend Brisbane have additional opportunities across the rest of the year.
For players pursuing ranking points or invitations to higher-level events, mapping the full series calendar lets you prioritise events based on travel feasibility and where your ranking needs the most points.
