Gundam Card Game Brisbane Regional 2026: Key Details

The Gundam Card Game in Australian Organised Play

The Gundam Card Game launched internationally in 2024 and has developed an active organised play scene in Australia through TAK Games, the primary Bandai TCG event organiser for the Oceania region. Regional Championships are the premier competitive tier for the game below a national or world championship level.

Finishing well at the Brisbane Regional earns ranking points and potential invitations to higher-level events in the Oceania series. The event draws the most competitive Gundam players in Queensland and is a meaningful step up from store-level tournaments.

Venue: Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre

The BCEC is in South Brisbane, one of the best-positioned event venues in the city. South Bank Station is a 2-minute walk from the main entrance and Roma Street Station is accessible via the Goodwill Bridge.

Multiple bus routes connect the venue to Brisbane CBD from both directions. Parking is available in the BCEC car park on Glenelg Street.

Parking is available in the BCEC car park on Glenelg Street. For players travelling from outside Brisbane, the South Brisbane location is within walking distance of multiple hotel options in the South Bank precinct.

Format: Constructed

The Brisbane Regional runs Constructed format. Players bring a pre-built deck using the current legal Gundam Card Game card pool.

The Gundam Card Game deck structure uses Combat, Command, and Pilot cards built around a primary mobile suit lineup. Players select their units and supporting elements within the current rotation and any format restrictions active at the time of the event.

Confirm the current legal card pool and any format restrictions through official Bandai Gundam Card Game channels before building your Regional deck. New releases between now and 18 July may be relevant to deck construction.

Preparing Your Deck for the Brisbane Regional

Regional-level Gundam Card Game competition requires preparation beyond casual play.

Study recent Japanese tournament results first. Japan has the largest Gundam Card Game player base globally, and Japanese meta developments typically arrive in Oceania 4 to 8 weeks later. Top cut decklists from recent Japanese events are your best signal for what Queensland players will bring on 18 July.

Identify the 2 to 3 dominant archetypes in the current format. Build your deck to win its target matchups and to manage those dominant strategies specifically. Knowing the field matters more than running the best deck in a vacuum.

Test against human opponents before the Regional. Connect with the Brisbane Gundam TCG community through local game stores or the TAK Games community channels to find practise games before the event.

Check current card prices before making any purchases. The C3 Gundam hub shows AUD pricing on Gundam singles updated daily from live market data.

Buy your Regional deck cards 3 to 4 weeks before the event

Demand from competitive players drives up prices on Gundam singles in the weeks before Regional events. Cards that represent good value now will be more expensive closer to 18 July. Buying your required singles early is consistently the smarter approach.

The Melbourne Regional: One Week Later

TAK Games is running a second Gundam Regional at La Trobe University Union Hall in Bundoora, Melbourne, on 25 July 2026. If you are willing to travel, you can attend both the Brisbane Regional on 18 July and the Melbourne Regional on 25 July for two opportunities to earn ranking points in the same calendar month.

Interstate travel between Brisbane and Melbourne for competitive play is a real consideration. For players genuinely pursuing a spot at higher-level Oceania events, the dual-Regional approach in July is a significant opportunity.

What Is the Gundam Card Game?

The Gundam Card Game is a constructed TCG published by Bandai based on the Mobile Suit Gundam anime franchise. Players build decks around mobile suits from the Gundam universe and compete in strategic battles using unit stats, pilot skills, and command cards.

The game draws on decades of Gundam IP spanning the original series, Zeta Gundam, Wing, SEED, Iron-Blooded Orphans, and other entries in the franchise. Knowledge of the Gundam IP enhances the experience but is not required to play competitively.

The C3 Gundam hub has current AUD pricing across the Gundam singles available in the Australian market.
