The Event Details

Dates: October 10-12, 2026

Location: Melbourne, Australia

Format: Convention-style event with competitive Riftbound play. This is not an RQ, it is an official Riftbound event with demos available and a confirmed exclusive promo card.

Exclusive promo card: Ahri, Alluring. This card is available at the Melbourne event and is not obtainable elsewhere through standard product. It is tournament-legal.

This event was confirmed in the official Riftbound upcoming events list alongside Dreamhack Stockholm and PAX Unplugged, positioning it as part of Riftbound's international convention circuit rather than the Regional Qualifier competitive path.

Why Melbourne Is Worth Attending Even If You Are Not Competing

The Ahri promo card alone is the reason. Exclusive event promos in Riftbound follow the same pattern established by the Karma playmat and alternate art Poppy at RQ Sydney, once the event ends, supply is permanently fixed. Ahri is one of the most popular champions in League of Legends globally. A playable, tournament-legal card with unique art available only at Melbourne is a genuine collector's piece and will have secondary market value after the event.

Beyond the promo: community events, demo tables, side tournaments, and trading are all confirmed parts of convention-style Riftbound events. For players who did not attend RQ Sydney, Melbourne is the next opportunity to engage with the Australian Riftbound scene in person.

The Timing Is great for the Radiance Meta

October 10-12 falls just before Radiance (Set 5) releases on October 23. This means Melbourne plays in the Vendetta meta (Set 4), which releases July 31. By October, Vendetta will have been the format for two months and the meta will be well-understood. Players attending Melbourne will have time to develop strong Vendetta builds and test them at a real event before the Radiance meta reset.

For collectors: Melbourne sits in the window between Vendetta release and Radiance release. Singles prices for the Vendetta competitive meta should be established by October, making it easier to evaluate what to hold versus trade at the event.

RQ Singapore Before Melbourne

If you are planning to attend Melbourne and are also considering RQ Singapore (September 4-6), note that Singapore badge sales open July 8 at 9am SGT (which is 11am AEST). Singapore is the second APAC Regional Qualifier and awards invitations to the Regional Championship, making it the more competitive of the two APAC events. Melbourne follows six weeks later.

The APAC competitive path in 2026: RQ Sydney (May), RQ Singapore (September), Melbourne convention event (October). Players who attend all three will have the most complete picture of how the Australian and SEA Riftbound scene develops through the year.

What to Do Now

Three things worth actioning before Melbourne:

Watch RQ Sydney results (May 17-18). The Sydney meta results will define which Legends are dominant and which singles spike in price. The cards that win at Sydney will remain relevant through the Unleashed season and inform Vendetta deckbuilding.

Follow Vendetta preview season. Previews start around late June 2026. Vendetta will be the format at Melbourne, so understanding the new cards early gives you four months to prepare.

Hold Ahri-related singles if you have them. If Ahri, Alluring card art involves the traditional Ahri aesthetic, the cross-appeal to LoL fans who want her specifically will drive demand for this promo beyond the competitive player base.
