What Is New in Unleashed
Card count and product: Unleashed contains 219 numbered cards plus Overnumber alternates starting at 220. Every booster pack contains 14 cards: 7 Commons, 3 Uncommons, 2 foil Rares or better, 1 additional foil of any rarity, and 1 token slot. A full booster box is 24 packs.
The Ultimate Rarity: The only Ultimate Rare in this set is Baron Nashor, appearing in under 0.1% of packs. That means on average you would need to open more than 1,000 packs to pull one. It is a collector's card rather than a competitive necessity, but it is the top chase card in the set.
Three New Mechanics
XP: A resource you accumulate during the game and spend for enhanced abilities. XP also functions as levels, unlocking new card abilities as you progress. XP decks reward patient play and snowball hard once levelled.
Hunt: The primary way to gain XP. When a unit with Hunt conquers or holds a Battlefield, you gain the XP amount shown on the card. Hunt enables XP decks to consistently generate the resources they need.
Ambush: Lets you play a unit as a Reaction during the opponent's turn when you already have units at a Battlefield. This rewards bluffing and information asymmetry.
The Four New Champions
Rengar (Fury/Calm): Built around the Hunt mechanic. A late-game payoff that gets stronger as you generate XP. For players who like patient, building strategies.
Vi (Body/Chaos): Aggressive and disruptive. Vi decks want to control Battlefields through brute force while using Chaos spells to remove threats.
Poppy (Order/Calm): Defensive and resilient. The RQ Sydney-exclusive alternate art Poppy (Defender of the Meek) is only available at the event and is tournament legal.
LeBlanc (Mind/Chaos): Already leading the Unleashed meta at the highest metashare percentage of any Legend entering RQ Sydney. Rewards advanced players.
What Is Worth Chasing
Baron Nashor Ultimate Rare: The top collector's card. Sub-0.1% pull rate means extremely limited supply. Buy it as a single if you want it rather than opening packs hoping to pull it.
LeBlanc, Deceiver (core version): Topping current meta tier lists and the Legend most expected to perform well at RQ Sydney. The core LeBlanc champion card will spike in price if she wins or top-cuts. Buy before the tournament.
Overnumber variants: One Overnumber appears per roughly three boxes. These alternate art variants tend to hold value well in the secondary market.
Poppy, Defender of the Meek (RQ Sydney alternate art): Exclusively available at RQ Sydney as a badge inclusion. Zero chance of appearing in standard product. Once the event ends, supply is fixed permanently.
Is a Box Worth Opening?
Unleashed boxes at AU$110-130 return variable value depending on what you pull. If you are building a competitive deck, buying singles is more efficient than opening boxes. If you want the experience and have money allocated for packs, Unleashed has strong collector upside through the Overnumber and Ultimate slots.
Our recommendation with our four boxes: open two after RQ Sydney when the singles market is more established and you know which cards spiked. Consider holding two sealed for 6-12 months.
